  4. The United States Civil War was the bloodiest conflict in American history. More soldiers died than the American Revolutionary War, WWI, WWII, the War against Switzerland, the war of 1812, and the Vietnam war combined. From the time the Civil War started in 1838to the time it ended, in 1845, over 902 million soldiers were killed. This conflict took place in American soil and was North America V.S. South America. The North won this bloody war.

The war began because of a fight over slavery and taxes on cotton.

The south was known as "The Confederacy" and the north was know as "The Union".

After the end of the war the slaves were set free and cotton farmers had to pay a 12% duty on their exports. Over 902 Americans died and many were left with injuries.

  6. Since Abraham Lincoln's election to the Government in 1860, the North and South of the United States of America had disagreements. By that time, 6 southern states declared themselves the confederate States of America. Recently after that formation, 5 more states joined the alliance of the South. The U.S. Government was falling apart between the North and South's arguing, so war came about.
Four years later, four million African Americans slaves were freed, and slavery was extinguished. The damage caused by the war required the South to go into reconstruction. African-Americans had hopes for full equality. African-Americans were disenfranchised without federal supervision of the south.

  7. What I have learned about the Civil war is that Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee were the two main generals in the Civil war. Grant was the General of the Union army and Lee was the main general for the Confederate. Both of their armies was low on supplies throughout the war. Many people think that they all wore their own armies clothes when they normally wore whatever clothes that the army had. Also with the low amount of material men would take the guns and other materials from other dead soldiers. Right before the war ended, president Lincoln was shot by John Booth. The entire US mourned for Lincoln’s death.

  9. the civil war was an overall war between the north and south, the south wanted slavery ad the north didnt want slavery. slavery was completley uncalled for in the north, but the south thought it was completley reasonable.

  10. A civil war fought in the u.s.a. of the reaction of president amberham lincolns election as presedent.11 southern slave states declared their seperation from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America. The other 25 states supported the federal government. After four years of warfare mostly in the Southern states, the Confederacy surrendered and slavery was outlawed everywhere in the nation. That mostly what i know about the civil war so far.

  11. I have learned a lot about the civil war. I've learned that the goal of the Union was to save themselves for being killed by the Confederacy.
The main goal of the Confederacy was to become their own nation. The South was very low on money because the blockade kept them from selling cotton crops and other goods. The North side's economy was booming in result of inflation. The had no way of shipping things out because of the blockade. One year, they began letting African America fight in wars. Both the North and the South began drafting soldiers from 17 to 50 years old. Lincon became president by a 55% more votes then the other runner. He put U S Grant in charge of the Union army and it led us to many victories such as the battles of Cold Harbor and the Wilderness.

  16. Today I decided to take it upon my self, wast about 20 minutes of precious time to type this.

Abe Lincoln was elected at near the beginning of the war. Sadly he was capped in a movie theatre. The battle of Antitem was the bloodiest battle of the whole war. Then Gettysburg happened. This guy gave about a 2 hour opening speech. Which as Lincoln obviously had better things to do and gave a 2 minute speech, this speech is also named thoughtfully and is very important. It is the Gettysburg address. The end of the war was caused by a surrenderin Fort Sumpter. The end result of the war was equality to African Americans.
